WANTED: FILM DISTRIBUTION MANAGER
BADLANDS are on the lookout for a highly driven, art-literate Aussie Film Distro Expert for a 3 month contract starting mid-Feb 2026. Are you interested in helping revive the staid Australian film industry?
THE HEADLINES
- 3 Month Contract, 4 days/week in Surry Hills
- $30K including Super + 5% of gross box office
THE ROLE
Our Distro Manager will devise and coordinate the theatrical run for a forthcoming feature film title, collaborating with all relevant stakeholders to ensure an optimal release. Responsibilities will include establishing and leveraging relationships with cinema chains, booking sessions and negotiating screening arrangements, collaborating with PR/publicity/marketing to exploit opportunities and coordinating DCP delivery. This is a 4 day/week role, based on-site at BADLANDS HQ, a stone's throw from Taylor Square in Surry Hills, NSW.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in film distribution, scheduling, or cinema booking preferred (though not compulsory for the right candidate)
- A passion for Australian Cinema, art-literacy and a working knowledge of the current film landscape
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to analyse box office data, audience trends
- Proficiency in coordinating with PR/marketing teams
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills

WANTED: VIDEOGRAPHERS
BADLANDS are always on the hunt for new videographers to help us lens our corporate work. These are one-off shoots, usually interviews and B-Roll, in and around Sydney. We like working with folks who:
- Have a killer eye
- Have a fluid internal metronome
- Have a working knowledge of DSLR/MILC workflows
- Have a head for screen geography and shoot for the edit
- Have drone skills (ideal but not essential)
